DAY 11 OF 12

A LESSON FROM AN ANT

The Bible contains a lot of guides and wisdom, among which is written in the book of Proverbs. When we feel lazy, the Bible asks us to learn from the ant, considering its ways. The ant is never slack. They are always working hard to gather their food.

You know, when we are lazy we will create a lot of excuses to procrastinate the things we need to do. Guess what… procrastination is the root of laziness. The sluggard will not receive what they want.

God commanded Moses and the Israelites to attack the Midianites because the Midianites had influenced the Israelites into idolatry. Because of the idolatry, God’s plague fell upon Israel.  The Midianites blocked the Israelites from entering the Promised Land. Therefore, this nation had to be swiftly destroyed, because the plague was threatening the Israelites.

When God speaks His commandment to us through His Word, or through the voice of Holy Spirit within us, we should not procrastinate to obey it. But let’s do it together with the Holy Spirit. Our obedience to God’s commandments is the key to living a fulfilled life..

Because the Israelites obeyed God and battled the Midianites, they won the battle. They plundered the wealth and all possessions of the Midianites. When we obey God, we can demolish the barriers that cause us to not achieve God’s best for our life. The barriers could be our fleshly desires, our ego, our worry and doubt and many other barriers. When we win the battle, we will reap what we have sown. God is with us and is for us and will enable us to defeat the enemies of our faith.

Let us cultivate diligence in life. Remember, laziness will only bring failure.
