Six Characteristics Of A Strong FamilySample

Six Characteristics Of A Strong Family

DAY 1 OF 6

Christians often have to make sacrifices. Pastors sacrifice energy to serve and lead their congregations. Teachers sacrifice their time by planning for their students and offering additional help when needed. Mothers sacrifice themselves daily by laying aside their own desires for the sake of their children. To be a Christian is often a calling to sacrifice.

Your family does not have to be one of those sacrifices, however. In fact, God looks for men and women who are convinced that the family is God’s building block for society and who make their family a priority.

What makes a family strong?

To answer this question, researchers studied families in over 30 countries, each in vastly different cultures. Their results were astounding as they realized that geographical and cultural differences mattered very little in making a family strong, but instead strong families were practicing six characteristics.

The first characteristic that makes a family strong is: Strong Families Share a Commitment.

Strong families have a strong commitment to family priority! They believe in the value of family and consider their own family to be a priority in their lives. Because of that, they recognize that sacrifices must be made for the sake of family togetherness.

Is family a priority in your life? Or, do other commitments tend to take priority? Consider how you spend your time, and even, where your mind wanders in down time. Thinking through these questions will help you identify the commitments that are taking priority in your life and how you can realign them to make your family a priority!

About this Plan

Six Characteristics Of A Strong Family

Researchers studied families in over 30 countries to determine six characteristics of strong families. Despite their geographical and cultural differences, the families in the survey shared six distinct characteristics. In this six-day study, find out what they are, how you can begin applying them in your family, and how each characteristic fits into God’s grand design.
