Ruth: God at Work in Our LivesSample

Ruth: God at Work in Our Lives

DAY 4 OF 8

Woman of Grace

Ruth is a woman of extraordinary grace. She shows radical faith in Yahweh and moves to Israel along with Naomi. In Israel, she had to look for work to provide for Naomi and herself and all she gets is to work in this field along with strangers in the lowest possible position. But she does not complain or feel entitled. She does not grumble saying, “Is this what I get for showing such faith in Yahweh?”

She goes about her work humbly and faithfully. Even the workers attest to her hard work. She is responsible and takes the initiative. She has a great attitude to work and is willing to provide for Naomi as well.

Does your life exhibit such grace? Do you complain and feel entitled to God’s blessings? Do you grumble and murmur at the slightest delay or discomfort? Can people count on you?

Just as Boas exhibits the loyal love of God, Ruth shows loyal love to Naomi.

You and I have experienced a greater love than Boaz and Ruth. We have experience the loyal love of God in Christ. Jesus demonstrates His loyal love by coming into this world, taking the form of a man, poor and forsaken, bearing our shame and sin and dying on the cross as a criminal.

Jesus is the epitome of grace. It is by grace we are saved. The more we experience the love of Christ in our hearts, the more we become people of grace to others.
