The Greatest Gift

DAY 4 OF 4

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)

Part Four - God gave us the greatest gift

It's almost Christmas time! Over this devotional we have looked at how God gave us the greatest gift in Jesus and at Christmas, we celebrate this! One of the things you may do to celebrate is by giving and receiving gifts, or spending time with your family and friends.

Think about something else you could give or receive this Christmas. Perhaps it could look like sharing what you have with those around you, spending time with someone who is lonely or helping out someone in need in your area? Whatever you think of doing this Christmas, let it be done out of love for those that you are sharing with. God gave us the gift of Jesus because He loved us, so we should give because we love other people too!

The Three Kings visited Mary, Joseph and Jesus after He was born. They gave them expensive gifts. The Shepherds also gave them a gift of a lamb. All these visitors all gave what they had in their hands, even if they did not have a lot. Let's do the same this Christmas; let's give our love as we celebrate what Jesus gave to us.

ASK:

How can you show love more to others this Christmas?

How can you give what you have to others this Christmas?

PRAY:

Thank you, God, that you gave us and everybody else the greatest gift ever. Thank you that you sent Jesus because you love us so much. Help me to give love this Christmas and show your love to others through my actions. Amen.
