God’s Good Pleasure
Here the Good Shepherd speaks to His beloved flock. He is the One who gave His life for the sheep, and we hear His wonderful voice telling us the most comforting words of our Father’s great love. It is His good pleasure to give us everlasting life and pleasure forevermore.
“God loves us” isn’t just some empty cliché. He proved His great love for us on the cross (Romans 5:8). Like any loving father, He gets great joy out of giving to His children. Think of it. Almighty God has prepared a glorious and everlasting kingdom of pleasure for those who love Him!
All pleasure in this life is temporal. The pleasure of the kingdom of God will be eternal. Believe it with all of your heart, and let your joy be full.
Do I have joy right now because I believe?
Father, thank you for my glorious future—a light that will shine more and more until that perfect day.
