Listening To The Word - 1 Year

DAY 281 OF 365

Repentance

Ezra 10:1
“While Ezra was praying and confessing, weeping and throwing himself down before the house of God, a large crowd of Israelites – men, women and children - gathered around him. They too wept bitterly.”

Leaders have a huge impact in how others see reality. Until Ezra came to Jerusalem, the leaders had intermarried with neighboring peoples and allowed their “detestable practices” to be introduced into their homes and community. It was because of this unfaithfulness that Israel had been exiled from their land. Ezra was deeply grieved (broken) by this behavior, and it was his example of confession and mourning over sin that caused conviction to grip God’s people. Our generation’s addiction to pornography and sexual sin is no different. We too have defiled our bodies, the temple of God.

Will we repent and return to the Lord?

Will our leaders model deep conviction of sin and humility?

Will the prayer of Ezra be prayed in our day?

Lord Jesus, I repent and ask for your cleansing and purity in my mind and life for your glory.
