Signposts To Christ From IsaiahSample
All of us need saving. There is not one of us that has not been hurt or wounded, physically or emotionally. We need a saviour.
Isaiah describes a person who willingly took the punishment of another. He did it so that others could be restored and made whole. Even though in many ways the people’s own rebellion caused their problems. The people that Isaiah was addressing were in exile.
Life without Christ is also a kind of exile. Christ took on the alienation from God caused by our rebellion. He did it so we can be made whole. This passage in Isaiah is like a signpost pointing to this work of Christ on our behalf. Using the words of this servant, Christ offers us healing and wholeness.
Question: What areas in our lives need healing and restoration? What steps can we take to invite Christ’s healing into these areas?

About this Plan
Throughout the Old Testament we can see signposts that point us to Jesus Christ. The book of Isaiah offers numerous such signposts. Reading Isaiah through the eyes of the New Testament can give us new insights into the life of Jesus, and also to the life of discipleship to which we are called.
