Running From The HeartSample
Tears
When Jesus saw her weeping... Jesus wept. (John 11:33 and 35)
I sense and feel in this season (and my life) God is working; God speaks to me in the tears. He is revealing deeper things to me and at times it is difficult to bear... I have felt a deep, deep pain in my heart for families who are suffering from the loss of loved ones, causing me to cry very much as I pray... let me bring hope and healing to show who Jesus Christ is, to bring His love.”
Rebecca’s tears for her brother were heart-changing. They became tears of compassion for others. Her tear-stained journals overflow with the cry of her heart. There is a fragrance of beauty about her journals, for Rebecca was weeping for lost and broken people. Tears, offered to God to be used for His glory.
“Let me bring you glory in my valley, my valley of tears.”
Rebecca journeyed on through her valley. As she wept for her brother, and for every hurting person, she sensed God was weeping too, for every lost and broken soul. Just as Jesus wept, Rebecca was learning that true compassion is to comfort and suffer with others.
“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. This promise was a great comfort to me. He really does collect our tears.”
Selah
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with them. (Psalm 126:5-6)
Tears are a gift from God, allowing you to share heart to heart with Him. God is close to the broken-hearted. Allow the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort to change your heart. With the comfort you have received, you will learn to comfort others. In this place of brokenness, He will renew your strength and guide you along the best path for your life, filled with His love and joy. What do you feel God is saying to you through your tears?
Passing the Baton:
Ask God to give you His heart for the “Lost” and for all who are suffering.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of tears. You know and understand me and I ask you to please use every one of my tears to bring you glory. Thank you for being the God of all comfort, and please help and strengthen me to comfort others with the comfort you have given to me. Amen.
