Hollywood Prayer Network On WisdomSample
WILL YOU WALK IN WISDOM OR REMAIN A FOOL?
"Wisdom is the right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know how to use knowledge is to have wisdom." Charles Spurgeon
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.” William Shakespeare
PRAY: Father in heaven, I don't want to be a fool. I want to listen to wise advice. I don't want to cause strife or be proud. You tell me that I will be wise if I take advice and that if I walk in wisdom I will be kept safe. Oh Lord, don't let me be a fool, but please give me understanding and let me delight in wisdom. I want to walk in wisdom and live a Christ-like life. Thank You for answering my prayer. Amen
REFLECT: Have you ever connected the dots to see that people who cause strife, or those who are proud, have no wisdom. And seen that the difference between a fool who finds pleasure in wicked schemes and a person of understanding is WISDOM. When we are dealing with difficult people in our lives we should be praying for them to know God so that they can then grow in their understanding of Him and gain wisdom. We shouldn't just get angry at them and call them fools, but pray that the Holy Spirit will come in to their lives and give them wisdom. Difficult people need to know God, so they need to be prayed for, not judged. And in doing that, you are practicing wisdom.
ACT: Write down on an index card up to three people you know who are proud, or who frustrate you, make you angry, or cause strife. Then start praying for these people to get to know and love God, and for the Holy Spirit to come into their lives and teach them to listen to advice, to become humble, and, rather than trusting in themselves to walk in wisdom. Ask the Lord to reveal to them that they can be kept safe by embracing the Lord and His wisdom. Pray that they will not find pleasure anymore in their wicked schemes, but instead find delight in gaining wisdom and understanding. Keep praying for these people and expect divine results.
About this Plan
One of the very specific commands God gives us is to ask Him for wisdom. This week we’re going to focus on gaining God’s wisdom versus worldly wisdom. And along with gaining wisdom, we will discover a list of other benefits that we receive. God says it’s a hidden mystery until we ask for it and then it becomes life-changing.
