"Sexodus" Relationships DevotionalSample
Joyful, Patient, Faithful
After reading this verse it's easy to find ourselves thinking, "Yeah, easier said than done, Paul." All we have to do is be joyful, patient, and faithful? No problem, right? Except when life happens and circumstances are out of our control. At which point we typically become sad, impatient, faithless people. But Paul tells us that sincere love understands the hope that exists in Christ and in the power of prayer. Instead of being someone who whines about circumstances, we ought to be people who praise the God who controls all circumstances! Not only so, but we also are encouraged to continue to serve the Lord in the midst of all this. Many people want to stop coming to church and focus inward when difficult scenarios come their way. Paul seems to be saying the best place you can be found, especially during those times, is in God's Presence, serving Him!
If you're going through a tough time in life, instead of focusing inward, look upward and resolve to continue to serve God and His House through the trial!
