Prosperity of Soul
This subject is addressed openly in Third John but spoken of by implication throughout the Bible, especially the Psalms. “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers (3 John 2).”
I never tire of this verse, as the implications are so rich and fulfilling. I love to see how one part of our lives has an effect on another. Our inner world - in this case, a soul that overflows in abundance - has an effect on our outer world in areas of health and finances. There is wisdom to be learned in paying attention to these principles. This really is remarkable as God wants me to be healthy on the inside, knowing it will take care of many of the things I look for on the outside.
