Filthy Rags. 

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isaiah‬ ‭64:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You are not righteous by your own power, authority, or strength. You are not made clean by your own doing. It is through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ that redeems you — His Blood makes you clean. It is through the Blood of Jesus Christ that makes you whole. Isaiah‬ ‭64:6‬ ‭KJV declares, “Our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” Our righteousness, or our “right way of doing things” is as filthy rags. Without Christ your “best” day is like filthy rags. Your best “good” day is like filthy rags. When you accept Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior, His Blood covers you and washes away your sin. It is through the Blood of Jesus Christ that you are redeemed. When you are in Christ, God sees you through the Blood of His Son and proclaims you as righteous and acceptable in His eyes. 

When you are in Christ, the Adamic Bloodline of sin is destroyed and God sees you through the acceptable Blood of His Son Jesus Christ. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord you are made new. You are in His Bloodline. It is not by your own works or your own good deeds that makes you righteous to God — it is through the shed Blood of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that you have the power to follow and surrender to His Word. 

‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ declares, “For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue). By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.” When Christ leads and guides your heart, He will lead, shape, and transform your spiritual and moral character. Let God’s Word cultivate the ground of your heart. Let His Word soften your heart. Let His Word renew you. Let His Word restore you. Let His Word flow through every aspect of your character. As you follow Christ, He will order your steps and make you new. Choose to surrender to Christ. Allow His Word to make you new.
