Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 12Sample

Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 12

DAY 23 OF 31

AD 66 Paul moves back to Rome and is heard and acquitted by Nero (2iTim 4:16–17) but God warns him of his approaching death (2 Tim 4:6–7). In Rome he writes to encourage Timothy, who is probably in Ephesus, and to ask for his cloak and his scrolls.

Note 2 Timothy 4:13, 21: It is unknown whether Timothy delivered the cloak to Paul before the winter and before Paul’s death in AD 67. It may have been while attempting to complete this mission that Timothy himself was arrested and imprisoned for a while (Hebrews 13:23). For a whole year, as he had done for two years earlier, Paul preached the gospel to the many people that immigrated to Rome.
