Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 12Sample

Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 12

DAY 15 OF 31

About this time a circular letter is written to all abused believers in Roman outposts to encourage them to rest in Christ, the highest authority, and trust in His salvation.

Note Hebrews 4:11: The writer of Hebrews urges us to, ‘Labor therefore to enter that rest’. Various events bring additional meaning to the word rest. The ark coming to rest on the seventeenth day of the seventh month (of the secular year) has a prophetic relevance (Genesis 8:4). The Israelites were escaping from Egypt, and Jesus rose from the dead on the anniversary of that day.
