Unwavering Trust In God - 10-Day DevotionalSample
The Miracles Begin
My husband Jack and I felt that the Lord was leading us to build a home in the country without going into debt. We were to look to Him continually for support. By the time the project was completed the experience had become such a training ground for us that the house itself had become like a fringe benefit.
Only good gifts come from God. He will take even the bad and turn it into good if we trust Him. From lumber, to bricks, window screens, concrete, carpet, and more, each detail became a new opportunity to trust God. From experience, there will be times when listening to negative reports and looking at things in the natural will try to kill your faith and feed your disappointments. Your mind and emotions might be screaming like those of the world but we have to stay in constant remembrance that God is able to overcome the impossible. But we must stay in trust and remind ourselves that we are, in reality, citizens of another world entirely.
We would find ourselves saying, "Lord, we don't know what can be done but we are going to trust You. And we choose not to allow feelings of disappointment to come in."
When negative thoughts are bombarding the mind, it is more important than ever to run to God in trust and not away from Him in disappointment. When we did trust, future tense, we were never disappointed. Sometimes we had to wait a few hours, sometimes a few months, and sometimes a few years. But the answers always came.
Pray Out Loud:
Lord, I choose to run to You, to trust You and not be in disappointment. You are worthy of my trust. I will trust You with my salvation and with my daily life. In Jesus' name. Amen
