Epic (Part 3): The Storyline Of The Bible

DAY 30 OF 92

Solomon’s building projects continue. This was a testimony to his wealth and security as well as a fulfillment of God’s promise to David in 2 Samuel 7. Along with Solomon building a house for God, he built one for himself. It took 13 years to build, so it was more than basic shelter. It is a hint of coming trouble. Solomon’s character was starting to be compromised by wealth.

The theme of God’s faithfulness in the midst of a person’s unfaithfulness continues. How do we get distracted from our relationship with God? I’m glad to know that God is faithful despite my failures, but how much better it would be if I could remain faithful.

About this Plan

Epic (Part 3): The Storyline Of The Bible

This is part three of a four part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one epic story of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
