UNCOMMEN: Bumper Sticker TheologySample
WWJD?
There was a time when WWJD? was all over the place. From shirts and wristbands to billboards and bumper stickers. In case you didn't know already, it stands for "What Would Jesus Do?".
Just like tying a string around your finger used to be an old school reminder to yourself (see It's a Wonderful Life for explanation). We were not as advanced back then as we are now. Today we have smart devices, apps, and even AI to remind us of what to do. In light of all of that, I think "WWJD?" may need to make a comeback because our world still seems not to know what to do.
But as always, God knew what we needed to hear before we even had ears to hear. Our scripture verse tells us, "you shall be holy, for I am holy." I want to encourage you to read 1 Peter 1:13-21 to learn about the call to be Holy.
This statement is entirely unattainable without God and is much deeper than it seems. For our use, we'll stay in the shallow end of the pool and take it for what it says. When faced with a decision, what would a Holy God want you to do? That question may take some prayer to discover or be painfully obvious. We are called to be Holy like God, we are to seek God's will in all of our decisions, and when He speaks to us, we are to do what He tells us to do.
That may seem over-simplistic, but I'd bet we'd be surprised how often someone prays to God for His will to be revealed and if His will is something we don't want… we keep praying. "Lord, I may not have heard you right as I'm sure you didn't say what I think you said. So, I'm going to wait on a sign from you as to what to do."
Keep it simple: be holy, for God is holy!

About this Plan
There’s a bumper sticker for everything these days. Christian culture has some bumper stickers of their own. Are we living up to what we’re testifying to on our cars? We’ll use some popular phrases you may have heard before to consider our personal walk with Jesus.
