EZEKIEL 44-45:
In Ezekiel’s vision of the ideal temple yesterday, we heard of the buildings of rooms for the priests and for storing holy offerings, the altar, the glory of God coming to this temple, and the reason for this vision.

ISAIAH 19:
Yesterday in Isaiah we heard the prophecy about the defeat of the Ethiopians. At the end of that message, there was a note of hope for that nation.

HEBREWS 13:
Yesterday (and even the day before), did you notice?!— that we returned to the place of rest which was the theme of chapters 3-4 of Hebrews. Compare the last verse of chapter 4 with the place where we ‘have come’ to in 12:22-24. The ‘place’ we have come to is also found in today’s reading, which is the last chapter of this letter.

Let’s pray.
Lord Jesus, our exalted High Priest, we praise You! May we keep up our determination. Keep us walking on straight paths directly to You. May we not turn away from trusting in your gracious kindness to start trusting in ourselves and what we can do in our power. And let us never feel smug and satisfied, so that the devil tricks us into immorality. Thank You that the writer of Hebrews did NOT say, “You will come,” or “You are coming”, but he said “You have come (NOW already come) to the heavenly Mount Zion and the heavenly Jerusalem. And so many joyfully welcome us there, into a kingdom that cannot be shaken. So let us keep our eyes on You, Jesus. May we count suffering a joy, because we want to be like You. And may we find peace in enduring suffering, because we remember that it is proof that we are the Father’s lawfully adopted children. May we live today in awe, believing in these things— that is by faith, and not by sight.
