Now & LaterSample
Have you ever started eating dinner with a group of people when suddenly someone asked, “Who wants to pray before we eat?” We’ve all been there!
While God doesn’t directly command us to pray before chowing down, thanking God for a meal is just one way to create patterns of worship and gratitude in our daily lives. God isn’t trying to add another thing to our “Christian to-do lists,” and He’s not mad if we DON’T pray before we eat. However, He does care about our heart and our attitude.
That’s why this verse says that whatever we do, we can do it to the glory of God—even something as simple and common as eating dinner. Before your next meal, pause to thank God for your food and for the blessings in your life. What are other ways you continue to create patterns of worship and gratitude in your life?
