The Art Of Neighboring: Week TwoSample

The Art Of Neighboring: Week Two

DAY 6 OF 7

When we compare our short lives to our eternal and sovereign God, the small things we do can seem pointless, too minor to matter. But God has given eternal significance to our actions.

Pray

Lord God, you have created the world so that it bears witness to you. Let me be a part of that, showing your good design to my neighbor.

Read

In the book of Ecclesiastes, a wise preacher meditates on how we long to know what God knows. Ultimately, though, he affirms that even if he can’t see the end result of all that he invests in, he trusts that God will work out the big picture.

Ecclesiastes 3:9-15

Reflect

God has given us friendships, family, work, leisure, and many beautiful aspects of life to enjoy. All people long to understand the deeper meaning of their lives, but not all people enjoy knowing the One who makes meaning of everything. Christians can invite their neighbors to share in their enjoyment of this beautiful world, and point to the One who makes sense of it all.

Respond

What simple things can you invite your neighbor to join you in? A meal, sitting on your front step, a birthday party, a commute? Think about ways to show others how you enjoy the world as someone who knows the Creator.
