Love God Greatly - Psalm 119Sample

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

DAY 32 OF 54

The pressure to compromise can come at any moment. Even when believers have the best intentions, the temptation to stray from God’s Word and follow the ideas of our culture can be strong. Although we are a part of the world, we are not to compromise with the world. Our thoughts must be centered on God in order to live out His perfect will for us. But, even when we stumble and drift towards the world, we still have God’s promise from His Word that He will keep us from falling until we joyfully stand blameless in His presence. How do you compromise your walk by thinking and acting like nonbelievers? Are your thoughts any different from the thoughts of unbelievers or do your thoughts reveal that you accept and walk in the perfect will of God? Father God, You go before me in every situation I will face. I thank You that the battles I face are not mine, but Yours. I thank You, Lord, that I always fight from a posture of victory, knowing that in the end You will win. When the battle gets difficult, Lord, keep me from settling and compromising all that You have taught me. Renew me, refresh me, and strengthen me each day, Lord, so that I am able to stand fast, fight hard, and rely fully on You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly - Psalm 119

Woven throughout this longest chapter of the Bible are beautiful character qualities of Scripture, reminding us that God’s Word is sufficient, truthful, pure, authoritative, and unchanging. But when we look to God himself – we see how his character is reflected in this chapter as well. This Bible study gives us a glimpse into the beauty, importance, and usefulness of Scripture, prompting us to walk away more in love with God and his Word, more aware of our sin, and more in awe of our great Savior and his sacrifice on our behalf.
