Followers of God 

“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.” Ephesians‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Pattern yourself after God’s Word. Pattern your life after His principles, precepts and patterns. Choose to follow Him in every area of your life. Let your heart reflect His Word and walk in His Love. Ephesians‬ ‭5:1‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ states, “THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father].” Seek out the Word and choose to submit to His Authority. Position your heart after God’s Way of doing things. “And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance. [Ezek. 20:41.]” Ephesians‬ ‭5:2‬ ‭AMPC‬‬

Let God soften the ground of your heart with His Word and let His Word lead your actions. Let the fruit of your life become a sweet fragrance to God. Let your life redirect others back to Christ. Choose to live a life that’s patterned after Christ. His Word is our Blueprint. He is our foundation. God is our Source and Strength. 

Isaiah‬ ‭28:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬ expounds upon how we are to live out the word of God daily, “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:” Let the Word of God guide your steps. As you build upon each precept and principle of God’s Word, He will cause you to grow, enlarge and expand. ‭‭Paul states in 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬, “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.” One can plant a seed in your heart and another can water but ultimately it is God who will cause you to grow, mature and expand. 

It is important to set and surround yourselves with Godly and wise counsel who pattern themselves after the Word of God. You can surround yourself with wise counsel but it’s God who gives you the promotion. Promotion does not come from your earthly relationships and connections — Promotion comes from God. He raises up kings and sits them down. Choose to follow Him and pattern yourself after His Word and He will enlarge your borders.
