Overcoming The Monster Of GriefSample

Overcoming The Monster Of Grief

DAY 7 OF 7

Dare to Hope

This bears repeating: getting hurt in life is inevitable; staying hurt is a choice. And let’s face it, the church is made up of flawed human beings who sometimes speak without thinking and hurt others. But that’s no reason for leaving the church! You’re “part of the body of Christ” (Colossians 3:15 CEV). Apart from it you’ve no function, no food supply, and no fulfillment, so you begin to die spiritually.

But when you’re part of a local church, you’re able to function as He designed you to. You will experience peace and find fulfillment. Because you are connected to your spiritual food supply—you’ll grow into maturity. “Yes, the body has many different parts, not just one part. If the foot says, ‘I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,’ that does not make it any less a part of the body…God has put each part just where it belongs.

he wants it…In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary” (1 Corinthians 12:14-22 NLT). Why should you stay plugged into church? For fellowship, food, function, and fulfillment.

Jesus, the One who suffered through sorrow, grief, and death itself, is risen! He is Lord of all, seated at God’s right hand, interceding for you. He who bore your sorrow and your grief, as well as all your sin, is victorious. And, through Him, you will once again rejoice in His accomplishment on your behalf. For now, He asks that you trust Him. He has promised to “make everything new”—including your circumstances.
