HeavenSample
Heaven is a paradise that we will marvel to see. And while we will be awed by its beauty, it is because of who is there that will make it perfect.
So who will be there in heaven?
The one seated on the throne will be God Himself. We will see God’s face. The presence of God, the Bible says, fills heaven and earth.
And no one will doubt or wonder who is God. It won’t be Buddha on the throne! It won’t be Confucius on the throne! It won’t be some petty world dictator on the throne! It will be God Almighty, the Lion, the Lamb who reigns forevermore! He is on the throne!
As to Christ, sitting at the right hand, you will have no trouble recognizing Him. He’s the One with the nail prints in His hands. The only manmade thing in heaven will be the scars from the nails in His hands as a reminder of the sacrifice and the blood that was poured out for our redemption and our salvation.
Also present is the heavenly host. The angels are fascinating to consider. They interact with our lives. They serve the people of God. But their primary focus is the worship of God, singing the hallelujahs, exaltations, and the choruses of praise to God.
But the focus is not only on the angels, but also on the redeemed, the believers who have put their faith in Jesus. The question is often asked: “Will we know one another in heaven? What about our loved ones who have left us?”
Of course we will know each other. Do you think we’ll know less in heaven than we know right now? In fact, you probably don’t even really know the person you think you know until you get to heaven and see God’s grace in their lives.
I can tell you that saying goodbye to a loved one is the greatest grief on earth. But the Bible promises us that one day there will be no separation. We miss them, but know we haven’t lost them; you know where he or she is.
Anyone who has placed his faith in Christ will be present in heaven. When John saw heaven, he saw people from every nation, every creed, every tongue, every tribe, every ethnicity, every race. People from all over the world.
And our goal this side of eternity must be to come together now in preparation for being together forever! There should be only one people in Christ! There’s only one color in Christ: the royal red blood of His cross!
