Hot Mess - Thriving As A MomSample
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Satan’s lies are most believable when we feel the most isolated. Often when we feel alone, we find ourselves at our most vulnerable. This principle is highlighted in Deuteronomy 25:17-18 when Moses challenges the people of Israel:
17 “Never forget what the Amalekites did to you as you came from Egypt. 18 They attacked you when you were exhausted and weary, and they struck down those who were straggling behind. They had no fear of God.
Who was most vulnerable to attack? The exhausted, weary, and those who were isolated. As a mom, have you ever felt exhausted, weary, and isolated? What did you do?
For many, they buy into a lie from the enemy that they are alone. That no one else is facing their struggle. That the burden they carry is theirs alone. If this is you, then let the words of Jesus from Matthew 11:28 wash over you.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”
In the midst of the mess, the worst thing we can do is isolate. That is why Jesus’ message to moms struggling with hot mess moments is “Come to me!” He will meet you in the midst of the mess and carry the weights that were never meant for your shoulders.
Reflection:
When life gets messy, what do you do? Beyond God, who can you lean upon to help remind you that you are not alone in your struggle?
Prayer:
Father, help me to respond to Jesus’ invitation: “Come to me.” I believe that He can carry my heavy burdens and give me rest. Thank you that you are always with me, and that I am never alone.
