Epic (Part 2): The Storyline Of The BibleSample

There is a common theme in the Bible of God allowing a couple who can’t have children to have a child and for that child to fulfill a higher purpose. We saw it earlier in Genesis when Abraham and Sarah had Isaac. Back in Numbers 6 we read about Nazirites, and now we meet one in Samson.
It must have been hard for Samson’s parents to wait all those years for a child. It must also have been rewarding to have such a clear sign that God had a plan. They certainly seemed eager to be just the right kind of parents. Waiting is hard, but God always has a plan!

About this Plan

This is part two of a four part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one epic story of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
