You Were Fashioned For Eternity

Do you expect to receive an inheritance from your parents? Or if they are no longer living, did you receive one from them? Some people receive entire fortunes from their families and others a mere pittance, if anything at all. What does the amount of an inheritance depend on? The parents, of course, and their assets.

My mother was only five years old when her father died, leaving her mother to raise two children by herself during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Mom never expected to receive an inheritance from her mother, and she didn’t. But imagine her surprise when a cousin passed away and left a sizable amount of money to her in his will! 

Did you know you stand to receive a fortune from your heavenly Father? He’s preparing it ready for you right now. The beauty and glory of heaven are described in Revelation 4 using the imagery of precious stones and gold. This world is not all there is. Our souls are designed for eternal living in this beautiful place. We’ll even have the right clothes to wear! White garments of righteousness are waiting for us along with golden crowns for our faithfulness.

One day, all our wardrobe struggles will end. The garment Jesus gives us will fit perfectly and be just right for the occasion. But until then, do you own one dress that is suitable for almost any occasion? Make sure to include a little black dress styled with a flattering cut in your closet. Toss on a denim jacket and add boots for a casual flair, or pair it with a stunning statement necklace and sky-high heels for a formal look. This one piece will go anywhere with style. And the right dress might last almost an eternity—mine is fifteen years old and still looks fantastic!
