Love God Greatly - 1 & 2 PeterSample
Peter tells Christians that they should not be surprised when they go through difficult circumstances, but that they should rejoice in Jesus’ suffering. The benefit to the believer is their spiritual growth and maturity with the very Spirit of God seen upon their lives. Many Christians assume that when difficulties come, it is because they have done something wrong, but the very opposite is true. When difficulties come, you are even closer to Jesus because you share in His suffering.
Do you find yourself rejoicing only in the blessings of God and avoiding the suffering of God? Will you remember that those who unite in His suffering will experience even more joy at His return?
