The Comparison Game Sample
You are Enough
When you compare yourself to others, there's always someone you think is more athletic, beautiful, talented, intelligent or popular than you. And it's okay to admire the beauty and talents of others. But comparing yourself to them can cause you to be trapped into believing that you should be like everyone else. However, what people see on the outside is not the real you! God made you to be one of a kind, with an inner beauty that is uniquely your own! Your inner self (your “heart”) is who you really are. God wants you to be free from feeling you should be like everyone else. God tells us in Genesis 1:31 that He “saw all that He had made, and it was “very good.” And that means you!
When playing the comparison game you can begin to feel hopeless. You can also compare yourself to someone at school or on social media, and begin to feel you're better than others. This leads to feeling prideful, which is not Godly. God wants you to see yourself and others through His eyes! Loving yourself helps you freely love those around you. You are enough, and you are who He has made you to be.
Consider the familiar verse in Matthew 19:19, “LOVE your neighbor as you LOVE yourself.”
Read the verse again slowly.
Who are the people in your life that you find hard to love?

About this Plan
We will always experience down times when we don’t “feel good” about ourselves. Maybe you don’t like something about your appearance, clothes, personality or accomplishments when you compare yourself to others. Maybe you’ve even wondered if God messed up when He created you. Join us in this three-day journey as we learn to love ourselves.
