Heart And Hustle

DAY 19 OF 30

Enemies of the Hustle

Hypocrisy

For centuries the Pharisees and teachers of the law enforced the moral code of Israel. What started off as a great form of accountability evolved into a list of rules and codes that didn’t apply to the original law, better known as the Ten Commandments. In Matthew 23, we see Jesus speak on the Pharisees’ lack of purity and open hypocrisy. They were so consumed with looking good to the outside that they neglected what was truly important, the purity of their souls. Jesus used strong language to reform their hypocrisy.

Far too often, we are consumed with presenting an image of ourselves that doesn’t truly reflect who we really are. Our outward presentation doesn’t align with our inward demonstration. Examine yourself today. Be authentic. Walk with a pure heart, and reject your human nature to make the outside looks better than the inside.

Goal:

What areas of your life aren’t exactly true? What areas are you just “painting a pretty picture” in? Make a decision to clean up those areas and seek God for help.
