Love God Greatly: Faithful Love

DAY 38 OF 40

The invasion of the Assyrians would be like a hot, dry wind from the desert that would smother the people and dry up the waterways. All the nation’s treasures would be plundered, and their greatest treasure, their children, would be slain mercilessly. Why? Because the nation would not return to God.

I think about God asking Himself, “What else should I have to do? What else needs to happen for these stubborn people to come back to me? Isn´t this enough?”

We often blame God for our problems and struggles. But we don´t realize that we are the ones to blame. When we see God as unjust or think that He doesn't care about us, we should take a close look at our lives and consider whether we are living with God in mind or thinking only about our well-being.

Father, I´m sorry for blaming You when things in my life don´t go as I think they should. Help me become willing to take responsibility for my actions and look for Your direction and guidance. Amen.

About this Plan

Love God Greatly: Faithful Love

Faithful love. Covenant promise. Everlasting commitment. Not only do these words describe the relationship of God to His people, but they describe the relationship of Hosea to his wife, Gomer. Hosea reminds us that God is a covenant keeping God. His faithful love pursues His people, His promises remain steadfast, and His commitment remains sure. This story offers encouragement and hope, showing how God’s faithful love pursues us.
