The Untamable Prayer

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5: 14).

Our prayers can be the greatest weapon we possess. Prayer is the means through which we commune with the Almighty God (Jeremiah 29: 12). Prayer is beyond ordinary utterances that we send off into the sky; rather it is a relationship between God and man (Psalm 145: 18). Through prayers, we converse with God making known our deepest thoughts, fears and worries. We get comfort for every ache in our souls. We get healing from the battle wounds that our hearts endure. Every dying part of our lives is given the means to live through our prayers. However, it is unfortunate that many Christians underestimate the power of prayer. There would be less complaining when we realize that only God can fix the problems you tell others about. A Shunammite woman's son dies in her arms and  instead of complaining, she held her peace until she got to the prophet who could help her.  Our words have the power to give life or put to death things in our lives. We have read of men in the scriptures who commanded the sun to stand still, closed up the windows of heaven from rain for three years, stopped the tyranny of giants; took captive armies of mighty kingdoms just because they discovered power of prayer. Prayer is the secret of a flourishing Christian life. If you can kneel in the presence of God, you can stand before any man. Quit worrying and start praying

. Food for Thought: What father will have a child he does not want to talk to? God is always itching to hear your voice. When you stay with God in the place of prayer, you become like God in the place of power.

Action Point: 

Raise an altar in your heart that cannot be moved. Ignite a fire on the inside that cannot be quenched. Just bow your head and pray. Resolve to make prayers your habit, and miracles will be your daily experience.

Prayer Point: Father of love, help me to love Your presence. Fill me with the undying desire to pray to You irrespective of the situations. Teach me to skillfully pray as You prayed. In Jesus' name. Amen
