ENOUGH: PATTERNS
“Offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:1-2)
Elisa Pike moved to Brazil as a missionary after spending part of her gap year volunteering there with Tearfund Go.
Should I have chosen a “normal job” to earn money, buy a nice house, fill it with nice furniture and go on nice holidays? What was I doing here, attempting to serve people whose dialect of Portuguese I couldn’t even understand?
Paul calls us to a renewal of our minds knowing that this is a challenge we can meet only with God’s help. Tuning in to the truth can be difficult when we face fear. It is too easy to doubt ourselves and God’s call on our lives. Yet even in our weakness we can offer ourselves as a living sacrifice. In His kingdom even our worldly fears and worries can be used by God.
Lord Jesus, thank You that You are bigger than my fears and yet come to meet me in them. Thank You that You have a call for my life and accept what I have to offer as enough, as You are sufficient. Please help me to rest in this knowledge, renewing my mind and walking in the light of Your promises, not conforming to the pattern of this world. Amen.

About this Plan
In God’s eyes, we are more than enough. It’s why He sent His son to reconcile us to Him. Though we may never grasp just how much He loves us, at Lent we can take time to reflect on all He did for us. It's time to reject the message that we aren’t enough, and instead remember Christ died for us, just as we are.
