Wounded Warrior: NaamanSample
The Victorious Warrior
There are wounds, and there is faith. God gave us the capacity for both. Our default, where we turn when we are wounded, shows where our trust is.
Wounds reveal faith.
The Bible introduces us to a wounded warrior named Naaman. The first verse in 2nd Kings chapter 5 tells us everything we need to know about Naaman:
- Warrior
- Leader
- Respected
- Victorious through God
- Leper
God made Naaman a victorious enemy against Israel, and he was a leper – he had an incurable skin disease.
Over the next few days, we will study how the wounds of Naaman and his contemporaries revealed their faith.
Let's learn to be like the lamb of the twenty-third Psalm. His wounds in “the valley of death” drove him closer to the victorious Shepherd.
May Jesus, our Good Shepherd, lead us to become more than warriors.
Challenge:
- What defines you? Your faith? Your wounds? Your past? Or are you defined by what God is accomplishing through you today?
