Have you ever wondered about the secret of true happiness? You will discover the answer in Psalm 1: Find your joy in God’s Word, rather than in the pleasures offered by the world.

The most important decision you can ever make is whether or not you will choose God. Psalm 1 assures you that if you choose God, if you enjoy studying His Word and organizing your life accordingly, all will be well with you. 

God promises prosperity to the person who has discovered the secret of finding joy in God’s Word. They will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season (see Psalm 1:3).

Can you honestly say you enjoy studying the Bible, learning more about God every day, obeying His guidelines and His commandments? Then you may also claim the promises in Psalm 1. God promises not only to care for you materially, but to also meet your spiritual needs (see Philippians 4:19). 

He will forgive your sin and have mercy on you. He will lead you on your life’s journey. He will guarantee you vitality, freshness and the fruit of your labors (like the tree planted by streams of water). He will bless you in everything you do.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the joy I find in Your Word every day. Thank You for Your promise that You will care for me, lead me on my life’s journey and make me successful. Amen.
