Be.Loved. 25 Simple Acts of Love to Change a Life

DAY 3 OF 26

DAY 3: Write Loved or Beloved on three cards and hand them to three strangers

“…and you shall be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will give.” – Isaiah 62:2

Sit in any mall, store, sporting event, park, etc., for any length of time and you will see the great variety of people God has created. Tall, short, man, woman, strong, weak. Each and every person you walk by every day has a story to tell. Each was made in the image of God and is equally loved by the Father.

And yet, chances are many do not know this fact. Their stories are marked by busyness and loneliness, pain and discontent. They seek comfort in places that will never bring healing. They fill their voids with money and things and food and relationships.

But what if one word could change someone’s day? The power of life can lie in a word. Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

Take out three pieces of paper and on each write either Loved or Beloved. Pray that God would direct you to three people to give these cards to. As you hand out each card, say something like, “I know this may seem strange, but I’ve been praying for who to give this card to and I’d like to give it to you. It’s just a reminder to you that God deeply loves you and cares about you.”

Reflect on how you felt doing this, what God did, and how you’d like Him to work as a result.
