Creation
Genesis 1:27| “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
If you’ve ever experienced an amazing sunset, breathtaking landscape, or the vastness of the ocean, then there have been times when you were likely taken aback by the beauty of creation. What’s crazy is that God created flowers, birds, and everything else in creation and yet that all pales in comparison to God’s ultimate masterpiece – you and me. When it comes to you and me, God actually created us in his own image and “breathed into us the breath of life” (Genesis 2:7). Out of all that God created, he formed us specifically so that we could be in relationship with him.
God created a world where we were fulfilled because we were in harmony with God. The person who creates something knows best how it functions; that’s why God knows that we are most fully satisfied when we are in relationship with him. As a matter of fact, Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Our relationship with God matters, and there are ways that we can grow in relationship with God. That’s why we created Discover Faith – because we want to give you the tools to cultivate a relationship with God so that you can have life to the full.
We all have areas of our lives where we would like to see God work. Maybe we need a full life in our marriage, our relationships, our hurts, and our struggles. God has given us that opportunity! The question is whether you and I will take him up on his offer and give ourselves to him so that he can give us life to the full.
Reflect:
- What are some areas in your life where you would like to see God work so that you can have life to the full?
- Have you tried to get fulfillment from places other than God? Where did that leave you? Did it work?
