From Beginning to EndSample
Today sets up one of the greatest showdowns of all time. Moses does what God has told him to do, but unfortunately Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, decides he really doesn’t need to obey God. He increases his unjust treatment of the people of Israel and openly opposes God. Opposition to God is a dangerous thing.
Although I haven’t always done everything God would want me to do, I don’t think I have ever defied God as directly as Pharaoh does here. However, I know people who do. I have also heard stories in which God has taken pretty drastic action to get people’s attention. I hope I’m never stubborn enough to need the kind of reminder of God’s power that Pharaoh is about to receive.

About this Plan
This is part one of a four-part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one story from beginning to end of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
