Day 2 – When you wonder if God even cares – ask and pray.

Did you know God cares about every detail of your life?  Maybe, like Jen, you grew up with a distracted or absent father. Your parents may have seemed too busy to care about what’s important to you, so you learned to do without or to figure life out on your own. 

Jen’s distorted view of a father’s love led to a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” approach to life. Instead of going to God when her finances were squeezed, she relied on her own wits to meet her needs with disastrous results. When she admitted her need, she was able to get her life under control through the wise guidance and prayers of Nathan’s dad.

Do you go to God with your needs? Did you know you can?

The Father God is so much more than our earthly parents could ever be. He’s omnipotent, all powerful, all knowing.  He’s able to be everywhere all at once. His energy doesn’t run out at the end of the day and he doesn’t have to conserve finances or love or time.

You matter to God. He cares about the little details of your life. In fact, he admonishes you to bring all your requests, your needs, your cares and concerns to him – because he cares for you.

When you have a need, ask and pray – and expect the Father to respond. Expect good things. 

Prayer: Father God, thank you that you care about every aspect of my life! My biggest need today is _______________________, and I ask you to provide. I believe that you are a good Father and you will meet my needs. In Jesus name, amen.
