Finding God

Imagine walking along the beach. The sun is high overhead. Waves wash up and over your feet as you comb the beach with a metal detector. Back and forth you swing the detector, listening for the little beep. What are you hoping to find? And what will you do with it once you find it?

This meditation from Jeremiah 29 is about the hunt. Looking, searching, and eventually finding what you most long for. Not an earthly treasure, but a heavenly reward. Not a lost coin, but finding the eternal presence of God.
