Confidently weird

Have you ever met someone who was so different from everyone else? Did they have a wild hair color? Crazy clothes? Eat weird food? A lot of people would call them strange because they didn’t blend in with everyone else.

John the Baptist was that person in the Bible that I’m sure people looked at the same way. He lived his life so differently from those around him. The Bible described him in detail, “John was clothed with camel’s hair and wore a leather belt around his waist, and his diet was locusts and wild honey.”

Oh, he was weird alright. But you know what was awesome about him? He didn’t care what people thought of him. He was so focused on who God made him to be that he didn’t have time to think about what other people thought about him. He was confident; not in his own abilities, but in who God said he was. 

Truth is, we are all like John the Baptist in some way. We all have our quirks that may be considered “weird” or “strange” but they make us who we are. It’s how God uniquely designed us. Since God made us that way, we can be confident in who we are.
