Trust For Today: A 7 Day Walk In Grace And Trust With TruefaceSample
Remembering Jesus
When Jesus asked His band to “remember Him” using the bread and wine as simple symbols, they weren’t in an elegant setting. There was little liturgical order to things, just eating, talking, washing feet, praying. Jesus didn’t say how frequently to take up those symbols nor that this should always occur in a church setting. He simply said, “as often as you do this . . .”
You can remember the unfathomable riches of Christ’s grace by taking bread and juice with you to all kinds of places for all kinds of reasons.
Communion means “the sharing or exchanging of intimate thoughts and feelings.” Commune with Jesus, on your own or with friends. Every week or every day. On mountaintops or at the beach. In your home or in your car. When you receive a promotion or lose a job . . . or a loved one. When graduating from school or receiving a gift. You are remembering that no gift will ever match Jesus in your life. He will enjoy this time and so will you.
