WOW, GOD. CHRISTMAS DOESN’T HAVE TO END. YOU ARE ALWAYS WITH US.

Experience

It’s here! Christmas Day! I got the best present! It was kind of a surprise because this year, I got Jesus! I know He’s been here, but this Christmas, I really GOT Jesus. I am wowed by Jesus this year because I discovered so much more about the baby in the story! 

God’s gift, Jesus, is a present that isn’t just for this season. He’s for my entire life. I’ve been unwrapping the present all month, learning how to use it. Spending time with Him, talking to Him, accepting His love, figuring out how to love others... It’s new. And exciting. Like a kid at Christmas! You know, it’s funny to think of a kid, waiting for today, when all along it was God waiting for this day. God prepared to give me His greatest gift of life, through Jesus. Jesus makes every moment count. He is accomplishing good things in me and through me. He gives me daily guidance and power through His Spirit. This is how I am God’s accomplishment.

I do feel like a kid, though. I don’t want Christmas to end. I want to keep receiving the present, opening it each day and growing closer to God because of it. Hope and peace and joy are not just Christmas words. They are eternal words. They are Jesus.

Wow, God. Christmas doesn’t have to end. You are always with us.

Did you receive a present this season, also? You did. It’s Jesus. He is the gift. To you. Have you opened the gift and used it? Understanding that you are God’s accomplishment. Knowing He loves you. Accepting others. These are all ways to use the gift of God’s love in your life. Sitting with Jesus isn’t just a habit to have at Christmas. Praying. Learning about God. Letting him lead you. This is how you are God’s accomplishment. Take this verse with you into the new year as you discover the different ways you really are God’s accomplishment. “We are God’s accomplishment, created in Christ Jesus to do good things. God planned for these good things to be the way we live our lives.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Dear God. Thank You for your present to me. Help me remember I always have Jesus.  Keep me on this path for the rest of my life. I am Your accomplishment. Amen!
