Yes We CanSample
Day 2: Together We Stand
Scripture Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5: 14-15
The social media giant has allowed us to see into everyone’s personal opinions and differences in points of views. From one point of view we see a lot of injustice to minorities and equality has become a hot topic. From another point of view, we see misplaced hate and a few innocent people being lumped in with a group of people that are angry and prejudiced.
In a world full of cultural variances, ethnicities, and many political views, there is expected to be many disagreements among each other. The issue is that over the last few years things of this nature have become extremely divisive to the point where it is affecting the body of Christ.
The fact is, as Christians we can’t ignore, hide, or run from any of these things. We are called to be the lights of the world. So, what should we do? We should stand together as one. Together we should chase equality dreams, because at the end of the day we all bleed the same. It’s not about dominating a race, but we must stand up for each other regardless of race or cultural differences.
1 Thessalonians 5: 14-15 (ESV) tells us to: “…admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with them all”. This means we should stand together in the faith and warn those that are unruly. We must stand together in faith and encourage those who are easily scared or fearful. We must stand together in faith and help the weak. These things we should do together as one. As Christians we move differently than the rest of the world. With Christ being our center, we have the source that pulls us all together as one.
In verse 15 Paul goes on to say that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seeks to do good to one another and to everyone. We can accomplish more together and impact generations when we are all in one accord. Together we can make things happen.
