DAY 2 OF 6

Hello, and welcome to this second session in this guided meditation series called chasing away anxiety.

This session is called "Struggling to Rest".

Find a quiet place, settle in, close your eyes if you can and take a deep breath or two.

My hope is that this meditation leads you to identify thoughts and mindsets that rob you of the gifts of peace and power that God wants you to receive.

For some reason, we’ve come to believe that resistance is like failing. Many of us believe that success comes with ease.  Comfort and smooth sailing are a sign that things are good.

The truth is, next to nothing valuable comes when things are easy and comfortable.
Most of the productive things in life come through struggle.

What is the biggest struggle you're facing right now?
Is there a part of this struggle that you love?
Are you struggling to get? Or protect?
Is it one of those top priorities that you wrote down in the last meditation?
Are there parts in this struggle that you really don't care about?

Let's ask Jesus a question: Jesus, what do you want me to do with that part of the struggle that I just really don't care about?

Let me remind you of something. Even in this struggle, we have rest. Jesus gives us a rest in His presence and His power. We have a place to escape from our toil, work and weariness.

It's important and valuable to remember that we have a place to escape and someone who will fight for us in our struggles.

Let's ask Jesus another question: Jesus, what part of this struggle will help me?
Write that part down.
Take some time to embrace what He tells you here.

Let's ask Him another question: Jesus, what part of this struggle will hurt me?
Pay attention to what He says here.
Jesus, what do you want me to do with that part?

Letting go of those things that will hurt us and embracing those things that will help us makes struggle valuable.

Struggle and resistance isn't a sign of failure. They’re a sign of life.
Growing things change and often, change brings resistance.

God bless you today with the richest most full life you can handle,
in Jesus' name. Amen.
