30/30 Challenge Reading PlanSample
God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1) and He created you! As His creation, He desires a personal, intimate relationship with you—He wants to live in you. One of the best ways you can pursue a relationship with God is by studying the Bible.
John 1:1 (AMP) says, “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.” This verse is telling us that Jesus IS the Word. So when we study God’s Word, we’re spending time with Him, hearing what He wants to say to us.
Your personal relationship with Jesus starts when you accept Him as your Savior; when you give Him your heart, your sins are washed away and God puts His Spirit inside of you. As 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, you become “a new creature altogether; the old…has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!”
The thing that’s hard to understand is why we still struggle with attitudes and behaviors that aren’t like Jesus when His Spirit lives in us. But while we have died to sin, sin has not died (Romans 6:11). And we can still be tempted to make choices based on selfishness, strife, anger, fear, lust, unforgiveness and anything else that leads to sin.
The good news is, as you get closer to Jesus through prayer and studying the Bible, you are changed from the inside out and become more like Him. He really is the best friend you can ever have!
Walk It Out
Wherever you are in your relationship with Jesus, today is a new day to take another step of faith that brings you closer to Him and molds you into His image even more. Study 2 Corinthians 5:17 and 21, Romans chapters 6 and 8 to gain deeper revelation of what it means to be “ingrafted in Christ the Messiah.”
