Grow UpSample
Like most of Jesus’ parables, you have read, heard or discussed this one about 1.2 billion times. But also like most of Jesus’ parables, how rewarding and eye-opening is it to return to them and seek new insights!
Certainly, you should go back and read “The Parable of the Seed" (or the Sower, or the Soils) but I’ve jumped to Jesus' explanation of it. As he outlines the various reactions people will have to the good news of the kingdom of God, Jesus issues a massive shot in the arm to anyone who has the inner soil to help cultivate the word of God within (the seed).
Those who hold on to the seed Jesus sows and endure, they will produce fruit. The maturity of growth will not only happen in that person but it will be observable—a crop of godly living and actions which is tangible and productive.
QUESTION: What type of “soil” are you and what has happened to the “seed” planted within you?

About this Plan
A lot of emphasis is placed upon making the leap from childhood into adulthood. At some point, it’s going to seem weird or juvenile if we haven’t “grown up”. The Christian faith shares this element of maturing and developing. A steady yet sometimes overlooked part of our Christian faith is “growing up” – and it’s not just a solo pursuit. Christians are called to help each other in maturity.
