Reverence: Trusting God’s Word to Guide

Homing devices used by the military to guide a missile toward a target are nothing new. God has been using a homing device for centuries and gives one to every believer. The homing device God gives us is His Word. The Word we hide in our hearts and the witness of the Spirit that continues to sound off on a daily basis guides us as we make our way through the land mines or sea mines and enemy fire. 

Proverbs 6:22 reminds us that God’s word is with us wherever we go. It will lead us, keep us, speak to us, and light our way. 

God’s Word and the Spirit are totally trustworthy to keep us safely on the path. When we are awake, God speaks to our conscious minds, giving direction and warning. When we sleep, He directs the unconscious mind with images and revelations that the Word confirms when we awaken. He will lead us. Our souls and minds can rest in this.
