Day 2: Involvement

"Lily, Jumper, Listener, Squeak, Ginger, K-K, Coconut, Water, Zig-Zag, Dots, and Dots Jr. Did I get them all right?" It wasn't my first time taking the quiz, but I was hoping I finally had all their names straight. It was so important to me to pass the "Big eyes" or "Beanie Boos" name challenge, memorizing all the names of all her stuffed animals. Why? Because I want to know every little detail of her life.

I will always want to know all her stuffed animals’ names, why she likes them, and which one is her favorite. What's important to her is important to me, because I love her. When she's excited about a gift, I'm excited about the gift. When she explains every detail of a drawing she made, I want to listen. I'm happy to be involved in the details of her life. Because I love her.

How much more does God love us?

God wants to be involved in every detail of our lives. He wants to know what's important to us and to be asked to be a part of it. We are so valuable to Him, so special, and so wonderful. What is important to us is important to Him. He already knows every detail. He would pass every quiz. He is joyful when you are joyful.

Before having children, I never realized just how much joy could come from watching somebody else have fun, but it is so true. To see joy and happiness on the faces of my children genuinely fills me with joy. It just feels good to know that somebody that I love is enjoying an environment that I have helped create for them, whether it is the backyard, a birthday party, or just her room with her toys.

How much more does God delight when we, His creation, are enjoying the environment He created for us?

It brings God great joy because He loves you.
