Wisdom For Life Prayer JourneySample
Avoiding Folly
Reflect on the source of the counsel you are given – does it come from godly people or from those who ridicule God?
It is noticeable that both Wisdom and Folly call out in public places: ‘Wisdom calls aloud in the street, she raises her voice in the public squares’ (Proverbs 1:20); ‘She (Folly) sits at the door of her house, on a seat at the highest point of the city, calling out to those who pass by’ (Proverbs 9:14). It is in the hustle and bustle of our ‘public places’ – the office, factory, school, hospital, or shopping centre - where we are in great need of true wisdom and also the good judgment to distinguish between these two voices. Both make attractive offers, yet one leads to life and the other death.
